Non Surgical Facelift in our Bicester clinic

Non Surgical Facelift

Dermal fillers are known to be used for a so-called Non-surgical or Liquid facelift which holistically treats the full face in order to address facial sagging or as a part of a facial rejuvenation treatment. These terms originate from an 8-point lift using MD codes for strategic Juvederm filler placement points, both created by a Brazillian plastic surgeon Dr. Mauricio de Maio, who has been leading Allergan's treatment program for several years.

It is very important to establish whether the non-surgical approach can help us to achieve a desirable result or whether a traditional facelift performed by a plastic surgeon should be advised. At REclinic we are completely honest at all times – if we don't think something is right for you, we will say so and recommend you a treatment alternative with the best intentions at heart.

The initial consultation is the most important step in your treatment to ensure we assess your face and discuss all your expectations and aims.

How does the Non-surgical facelift work then?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid which is a sugar we all have in our body. The HA filler acts as a cushion that attracts water (up to 1000 times its own weight in water) and stimulates fibroblast cells to create collagen and elastin. As long as those small filler cushions are placed in strategic points they have a filling effect to create the desired contours.

The best to describe facial aging and how we use dermal fillers to tackle it is using a tablecloth analogy:

All the structures and tissues in our face - facial bones, fat pads, and muscles which give our face its shape (the table) are shrinking while the skin (the tablecloth) stays the same and starts to sag. As long as we can replace the lost volume in those important points we can give the skin its supporting scaffold back. While these treatments can have dramatic effects, our aim at REclinic is always to enhance natural beauty, rather than to achieve harsh or unnatural results.
